Crochet Penguin Tux

The crocheted penguin in the picture is Tux, the Linux mascot. That is an operating system on the computer that my love likes to use.
As a joke one day he asked if I couldn’t crochet a Tux for him. Now there are many penguin crochet patterns, but most of them don’t look like Tux, except for one.
On the Internet I found the pattern of the real Tux on a Danish blog (http://www.kvalitid.dk/opskrift-pa-haeklet-linux-pingvin-tux/). There was one small problem, the pattern was written in Danish, but with the help of some translation lists of crochet terms and Google I managed to translate it into Dutch.
Not long after, Tux was crocheted and he has been sitting on my love’s desk next to the computer for a few years now.
Recently I discovered that I am not the first to translate the Danish pattern. Rieneke from https://www.famvlaanderen.nl/tux-haken-pinguin-van-linux/ has already translated the Danish pattern into Dutch and published it on her blog. If you click on the link, you will not only get to read the pattern, but also some useful tips. Scroll down and under the title: “Tips if you also want to use this pattern” you will find the link to the Dutch pattern.

Happy crocheting, Catherine.
